A doctor was in the recruitment process to a facility in a specialty for which they had been recruiting for over a year.  He had an outstanding CV, which included not only extensive medical experience, but a management and financial background.  He was eager for the site visit but before spending over $1,000 for the airfare -- one call to Reality Check Screening revealed that he was the subject of the above headline which was published by the North Platte Bulletin in October 2006.  The doctor is currently under investigation by the Justice Department and the Internal Revenue Service.  None of this information would have been obtained in the "standard" credentialing process - not to mention by that time, the facility would have paid not only for the site visit, but the many associated relocation costs.   Before you place your own professional reputation on the line, as well as that of your organization...know the reputation of your candidate !
